Abstract

The objective of this article is to display the life of the musicologist Miguel Juárez from a personal and day-to-day viewpoint with the contribution of family and friends as primary sources. Through interviews, they describe the beginning and development of his life in Argentina and, afterwards, a bibliographical research describes his work, carried out in Ecuador and the Latin American region, mainly, through the transcription of Ecuadorian and Bolivian colonial music, taking into account that this period has been little documented and its music little performed due to the lack of modern musical notation.
