This article analyzes borderline integration among the countries that are part of the Andean Community (CAN). We will consider the regulatory framework of the CAN and the evolution of the concept of borderline development. Several initiatives that pursue an improvement in the quality of life of the population have been promoted inside the ZIF (zones of borderline integration) of the Andean Community. This document refers to the binational projects that have been executed inside the frame of the GANIDF (high level group for the integration and development of the borderlines). We end mapping the difficulties found within these projects and a proposal to improve their implementation.
