Abstract

Education in virtues and values, regardless of whether or not people profess a religion, is crucial to achieving a better, fairer world with humanly better people.

Until relatively recently, families, schools and colleges, and society itself, contributed to the formation of virtues and values. But right now it is not like that. It is possible that families and some schools are aware of the importance of educating in virtues and values. However, society does not collaborate in this training and sometimes even does not accept it or there is not a certain uniformity in which virtues or values are good for people and for society in general. Sometimes, too, attitudes are promoted that go against these virtues and values, proposing vices or anti-values to our young people who, lacking the appropriate training, embrace them, sadly.

If until a few years ago this education in virtues and values could be done more or less unconsciously, due to the rapport that existed between families, school and society in which everyone maintained a certain uniformity in which good habits were considered virtues and values, in current times it is necessary that this education be done in a totally conscious way.

An education in virtues and values led by the school/college through a training plan in which families are also protagonists and actively participate in the personal development of their children in virtues and values is necessary.

If the help to students for their personal axiological development is carried out jointly between school/college and the family, it has a higher degree of success.
