Artificial Intelligence and its impact on cognitive work from a humanistic perspective

Abstract

In recent years, artificial intelligence has entered different areas of our lives, including education. This situation not only presents technical and pedagogical challenges but also questions the very foundations of education: the purpose of teaching, of acquiring knowledge and, above all, of reasoning. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a system that simulates some of the capabilities of the human brain, such as problem solving and language comprehension. This raises a new way of understanding mental work as something that shapes and enriches our humanity.

In this article, we will analyze how artificial intelligence affects mental work, but from a more human perspective. This means that we will consider not only what AI can do, but also how it influences how we learn, our individuality in learning, and the importance of the teacher as a guide in cultural and educational transmission. We will also consider whether it is beneficial to study and acquire knowledge with the help of these technologies, taking into account the importance of critical thinking, creativity, and the integral development of the person.
